Pickup from your hotel in Arusha (or Kilimanjaro Airport) in the morning. Drive ~2 hours to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a full day of game viewing with a picnic lunch. Tarangire is famous for its huge elephant populations (especially June–October), baobab forests, ancient riverbeds, and diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and over 550 bird species. In the late afternoon, drive to your lodge in Karatu or near Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight.

Early breakfast and descent into the Ngorongoro Crater (one of the world’s largest intact volcanic calderas). Spend the morning on an extensive game drive across the crater floor, with picnic lunch. The crater offers incredible wildlife concentrations: lions, spotted hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, and a chance to spot the endangered black rhino. The dramatic scenery and variety of habitats (grasslands, swamps, forests) make it a highlight of any Tanzania trip. In the afternoon, ascend and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon/evening.
