Day 01: ARUSHA - TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most beautiful wildlife destinations. The drive takes about 2 to 3 hours, passing through local villages, open landscapes, and scenic countryside.

Upon arrival, you will enter the park and begin your game drive. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and the Tarangire River, which attracts many animals throughout the year. During the game drive, you may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes, and, if lucky, lions or leopards.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by nature. After lunch, the game drive continues through different areas of the park, giving you more chances to see wildlife and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

In the late afternoon, you will drive to your lodge or campsite near Karatu or Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight, ready for the next day’s adventure to Ngorongoro Crater.

Today, your safari adventure continues south to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Tanzania’s most remarkable natural wonders. The drive takes approximately 6 hours, covering about 180 km.

On the way, you may choose to visit Olduvai Gorge, a famous archaeological site where Louis and Mary Leakey discovered some of the earliest evidence of human ancestors. A picnic lunch will be served en route.

In the afternoon, you will continue to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the largest intact volcanic calderas in the world. The crater floor is home to more than 30,000 animals and offers excellent game viewing throughout the year. It is also one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino.

After the game drive, you will proceed to your accomodation for dinner and overnight.

We start the day with an early morning game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. With its impressive 2,000-foot-high walls and rich ecosystem, the crater is home to a wide variety of wildlife throughout the year. Since very few animals migrate in and out, you have a great chance of seeing lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, and many different bird species.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a vast highland region along the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley, with the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater as its main highlight. After a full day of game viewing in the crater, you will drive back to your hotel or continue to your preferred destination.

Meals included: Breakfast and lunch.

After breakfast, you will descend 600 meters into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in Africa and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos.

With a year-round supply of water and grazing, the crater supports a wide variety of wildlife, including large herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants. It is also famous for its high number of predators, such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before driving back to your hotel in Arusha, marking the end of your safari services.
